Customizing Your Cremation
Gardens of Memory is the area leader for personalized cremation options. Aside from our dazzling selection of urns and other cremation keepsakes, you can pre-plan your cremation service in a way that is uniquely you.
Dove Release
The releasing of white doves at funerals and memorials is quickly becoming a popular way of adding that special touch to your loved ones memorial or funeral service and is a loving and inspirational way of remembrance. The releasing of a white dove helps to begin the grieving process by opening the doors to “letting go” and is sure to live on in the memories of all attending the service. The trained white birds will soar into the sky, usually circling a number of times in a group before returning to their home lofts miles away.
Fireworks Display
Create a truly one of a kind memorial event and a spectacular farewell with a fireworks display modified to incorporate cremains. Fireworks displays can be extended or enhanced and supported by other activities for a perfect celebration of life.
Space Launch
Honor the memory of your departed loved one by launching cremated remains into Earth’s orbit, onto the lunar surface or into deep space. Memorial spaceflights are a fitting tribute for explorers, pioneers, entrepreneurs, aerospace professionals, and all who have an interest in space exploration, science fiction, or astronomy — or who simply feel at home in the cosmos. Your loved one will venture into space as part of a real space mission, riding alongside a commercial or scientific satellite.
Balloon Release
Your loved one can be safely transported to the heavens in a giant helium-filled biodegradable balloon. The balloon is taken to a site chosen by the family and released. The balloon slowly ascends to a height of approximately 30,000 feet. During the balloon’s ascent it expands and at a height of approximately 6 miles, where it freezes and fractures, scattering the ashes.
Eternal Reef
An Eternal Reef replaces cremation urns and ash scattering with a permanent environmental living legacy. Families and friends can participate in the creation of their loved one’s memorial reef. From placing handprints in the damp concrete during the casting, making a rubbing of the bronze plaque during the viewing ceremony, or placing a flag on your loved one’s memorial reef during a military honors ceremony, all activities provide peace of mind for everyone involved.
Butterfly Release
A Monarch butterfly release is a beautiful and unique tribute to your loved one. Butterflies symbolize spirit, representing freedom and beauty as they take flight. A live butterfly release creates a memorable celebration of your loved one’s life. Butterfly releases are available from the end of May to September when the temperature is warm enough for a successful release. You can incorporate this lovely tribute into your service, or if your original service falls in a colder month, consider a special follow-up remembrance.
